2023 JPL Ultimate Reading Challenge
- This reading challenge is open to adults 18+.
- The 2023 Ultimate Reading Challenge begins in January 2023 and ends December 31st, 2023.
- To sign up, simply grab a packet from the Reference Desk at JPL or download our Reading Log to track your reading for the challenge.
- Pick your books based on the categories or find categories to fit the books you were going to read anyway. It works both ways!
- Read. A lot. Read books in lots of different categories and different formats.
- You set your own goals for the challenge and track your own books on the Reading Log. At the end of the challenge, you will submit your Ultimate Challenge Score Card at the JPL Reference Desk to receive your entry ticket(s) for the Grand Prize Drawing.

- How many books do I have to read to complete the challenge?
- The Ultimate Reading Challenge is a personal, goal-oriented challenge, but you should read at least 18 books to complete the challenge.
- Do I have to read a book from every category in the book log?
- You can do that if you wish, but you do not have to.
- Do the books I read have to be checked out from Johnston Public Library?
- No, they do not, although we always enjoy seeing you!
- Can I listen to an audiobook/e-audiobook for the Ultimate Reading Challenge?
- Absolutely! We love all reading formats and encourage you to read in whatever way you find the most enjoyable.
