    Johnston Public Library Wed., Dec. 9th 4:00pm - 6:00pm

    Did you know DMARC's Mobile Food Pantry makes bi-monthly stops to the Johnston Public Library parking lot? Stops will be the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm. Find more information at www.dmarcunited.org/food/mobile/ WHAT CAN I RECEIVE? Once per calendar month, you may receive a 3-day supply of food, measured by family size. Our food follows a healthy food guideline. Select which food items you want with our choice pantry service model. Daily food items are available to anyone, any time the pantry is open. HOW DO I GET HELP? There are no income requirements. Bring a photo ID for every adult member of your household, and some other form of ID for all children in the household. At the Mobile Food Pantry, you will go through a short intake process.

  • To-Go Adult Craft Kits: Holiday Ornaments

    Grab a fresh mug of coffee or warm cider and get your craft on. Stop by Johnston Public Library on Saturday, December 12 to pick up a Take-Home Adult Crafting Kit featuring the materials to make two stylish holiday ornaments. Included in the kit are written instructions from super-crafter Erica Carnes, plus all supplies needed to make the ornaments, although pliers might be helpful if you own a pair. Don't forget to tag us on Instagram @johnstonpubliclib or on Facebook @johnstonpubliclibrary so we can see your beautiful creations! To-Go Adult Craft Kits are available for contactless curbside pick-up on Saturday, December 12 beginning at 10:00am and will be available while supplies last. These kits will go fast and are available on a first come, first-served basis. No appointment necessary.

    Learn to knit, sharpen your skills, meet some pals and just geek out about crafts in general. Erica Carnes invites you to drop-in, bring your knitting and join the group every second Saturday of the month from 10:30am to noon. Erica has been knitting since 2004 and teaching knitting to anyone that will listen since 2010. She enjoys bright colors, natural fibers and pieces that step away from the norm.
