    The Parent Partners program includes innovative changes in social work practice. It celebrates individuals who have overcome obstacles through change, recovery, and accountability, and uses their skills to mentor families who are currently navigating through the child welfare system as their children are in foster or kinship care. Parent Partners demonstrate advocacy and effective communication while holding families accountable. Statewide we come together and discuss and improve our program.

  • Free Shred Day At Johnston Public Library

    Johnston Public Library 9:00am - 12:00pm

    Get rid of your old confidential documents in a safe and secure way at Johnston Public Library's free Shred Day. THE SHREDDER company will be in the JPL parking lot from 9:00am to 12:00pm for on-site document destruction with 3 of their mobile document-shredding vehicles. THE SHREDDER is AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction. Please limit material to be shredded to 3 disposable boxes or containers per household. To expedite shredding, traffic will route from Merle Hay around the library onto Morningside Drive and enter the west parking lot by the Simpson Barn. Please stay in your vehicle and a volunteer will collect your boxes for on-site document shredding. No registration is necessary. This event is sponsored by AARP in conjunction with Money Smart Week.
