Kate Klise

AUTHOR VISIT, MAY 12, 6:45 P.M. - The Johnston Public Library is hosting an author event with Kate Klise, award-winning author of the bestselling Regarding series of middle-school mysteries (Regarding the Fountain, Regarding the Bees, etc.). In addition, Klise has authored picture books such as Imagine Harry for younger children. While in Johnston she will also visit in a few of the local schools.The Library's evening event will provide an additional opportunity to hear about her writing experiences. The event, which is sponsored by the Johnston Public Library Foundation, is free to the public. A book signing will follow the presentation. BABYSITTING CLASS, MAY 31 AND JUNE 7, 9:30-12:00 - Call Youth Services to register for the Camp Fire Babysitting Class for those who have at least completed 5th grade. The cost is $16 and registration is required. Call 278-5233.

Babies & Books (6-24 months with an adult caregiver)

Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. Resumes in June with summer registration beginning the week of June 2.
Books, rhymes, music, and more.

Wee Read (18 months to 3 years with an adult caregiver)

Wednesdays at 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 a.m. -
Books, songs, fingerplays/action verses, puppets, flannelboard stories, and more, with an occasional craft or treat. Resumes in June with summer registration beginning the week of June 2.

Stories & More (Ages 2-6 with an adult caregiver)

Second and fourth Fridays of each month at 10:30 a.m. - Stories, crafts, and more!
Resumes in the Fall.

Storytime (Ages 3-6)

Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. -
Books, songs, fingerplays/action verses, puppets, flannelboard stories, and more, with an occasional craft or treat. (Accompanying adults are asked to remain in the library during the program, which lasts 30-45 minutes. Resumes in June with registration beginning the week of June 2.

Book Bunch ( Grades K-4)

Third Thursday of the month at 4:15 p.m. - School-age program which will include books, after-school snack, and other activities.
Resumes in the Fall.

Tuesday Book Club (Tweens and Young Teens)

Call the library the first Tuesday of the month to sign up and to pick up this month's selection.
Enjoy tasty snacks and lively discussion each month.

May 27, 6:45 p.m. - 6th graders and up

Teens and Teen Advisory Board (Older Teens)
