World Read Aloud Day - March 9, 2011
We celebrated global literacy on Wednesday, March 9 with the rest of the world!
Mayor Dierenfeld proclaimed World Read Aloud Day in Johnston at the March 7 Council meeting.
Author Rebecca Janni read her book, Every Cowgirl Needs a Horse.
 Author Wendy Delsol read from her new book, Stork.
Trista Pietzman provided a book talk about Joan Klostermann-Ketels' unique book entitled PersonaliTrees
Literacy Resources
Representatives from the State Library of Iowa, Iowa Public Television, and the Johnston Public Library provided helpful literacy handouts and resources.
The audience looks on as caped superhero, Dan Wardell from Iowa Public Television, builds his own team of kid superheros.
